The Golden Age: Under a Blood Red Sky

Under a Blood-Red Sky

When my client commissioned me to create this bronze sculpture in 2024, things were a little different in the world and much different in America. He, himself, is an artist. Not a visual artist but a singer-songwriter artist. Without getting into the whole Gaza strip thing, fallen Jewish temples, Raptures, lamp stands, seals, and such, I think we can all agree on two things here: there is something semi-prophetic and ominous about this piece; and to see a sweet vulnerable lamb chilling, unthreatened, by a ferocious lion would be a welcomed site to see, about now.

The rubble is somewhat disturbing, but it's in the ruins that the "high art" can be found. Under these blood-red skies, entire systems are collapsing before our eyes, the rise of Globalism hovers vulture-like, and capitalism is now held hostage by greed, yet I profess in this work of art, that we are all surrounded by burning bushes, day after day after day.

Within this rubble, flowers will surely spring forth. That cannot be stopped, just as good art speaks to our higher consciousness and withstands the test-of-time.
